Exciting news for Who Will Let the Dogs Out

It’s a BIG week for us at Who Will Let the Dogs Out! I’ve got THREE exciting things to tell you!

I’m super excited to share with you the incredible news that my favorite dog supply company, Max & Neo, has donated a vehicle for us to use on Shelter tours! This is amazing, right?

We are over the moon because this means we can visit more shelters and save thousands in rental fees (leaving us more money to fill our vehicle with donations for the shelters!).

When Kenric, Max & Neo founder, first made his offer we thought we’d do best with a small transit van, but after looking at the expense and their limitations (limited cargo space, bad visibility, no cruise control, low clearance that would make it tough to get into some of the rural shelters we visit), we changed course. Our new-to-us Honda Element is the perfect vehicle for hauling donations (and occasionally dogs). Not only is it all-wheel drive, it has 127 cubic feet of cargo space (more than a transit van!). Plus it’s much more comfortable and versatile to travel in – we generally log over a thousand miles on each shelter tour.

If you are a rescue or shelter, you (hopefully) know how special Max & Neo is because they donate one for one on every item they sell. This means if you buy one of their gorgeous collars, they donate one to a shelter. In fact, they send boxes of collars, leashes, treats, supplements, and other goodies to registered shelters and rescues three times a year! We hand-delivered lots of their stuff on our last shelter tour.

I’ve been a fan from way back. My favorite item they sell is triple handle leash that give me better control over my wild pack. The handles are padded and the leash is sturdy and lasts a long time (we’ve yet to replace one other than the one Fanny chewed through her first week with us when she as anxious and I wasn’t paying attention).

We’re super proud to be partnering with Max & Neo. Soon, our Element will have a Max & Neo (and Who Will Let the Dogs Out) wrap, so you’ll see us coming! And, of course, we’ll be loaded with donations for the shelters.

Our third thing is happening this Sunday. We’ll be at the Loudoun County Pet Expo! If you’re in the area, please do stop by and say hi. We’ll have t-shirts, books, and tote bags for sale, plus we’ll be giving out stickers, bookmarks, and other goodies. We’d love to meet your dog and snap his picture to post. The mission of Who Will Let the Dogs Out (we call it Waldo for short) is to raise awareness and resources for homeless dogs and the heroes who fight for them.

It’s the story of a challenging foster dog who inspired me to travel south to find out where all the dogs were coming from. It tells the story of how Who Will Let the Dogs Out began. Amber’s Halfway Home is our short documentary film produced in partnership with Farnival Films. It follows the work of a remarkable woman and one day of rescue in western Tennessee. Selected for sixteen film festivals (to date), it’s won eight awards (including Best Short Doc, Best Soundtrack, Best of Fest, and Audience Choice), and was nominated for an Emmy! It is a beautiful, heartbreaking, inspiring story we hope will compel viewers to work for change. Please watch it and share it far and wide.
