It’s auction time and this year’s auction is a monster (and getting bigger every day)!
Starting this Sunday, the WWLDO Fall Online Auction begins! Our volunteers have outdone themselves and amassed over 250 auction items for you to bid on.
I’ll be honest and say, I’m a little bit anxious about this auction. There is SO MUCH STUFF, so now we need LOTS OF YOU to bid on things.
You can find everything from cool gear for your dog to a vacation home in Florida. There are TONS of gift cards for food, experiences, dog stuff, and people stuff.
If its successful, we will be able to fund our shelter tours AND add to our Instagrant fund. Those are two of the most important things we do. So, I’d be SUPER grateful if you’d not only take a look at the auction but share it will people/groups you know. To make that easy, here is the link you can copy/paste and send anywhere: https://givebutter.com/c/PL9Ikz/auction
We are in the business of helping shelters/rescues, so it feels a little odd asking for your help in helping us! But I’m absolutely convinced that the work we do is critical – not only in raising awareness and supporting shelters/rescues with ideas and solutions that work, but in bringing hope at this moment in time when shelters all over the country are struggling.
The numbers are worse now than ever, which means what we are doing is more important than ever. Here are a few of our successes this year:
Visited 30 shelters and rescues (with 20 more visits scheduled this year) to deliver donations and tell their story, and followed up with grant-writing assistance, networking, and ongoing support.
Thanks to a grant-to-regrant from the ASPCA and YOUR donations, we distributed 5 Instagrants of kuranda beds, kennels, parvo treatment, and a tiny shelter building to struggling shelters.
With your help, we’ll be able to do even more. The auction team has truly outdone themselves. Every time I check the site, I’m blown away. I know you will be too.
I hope you will bid and invite others to bid on this great stuff too. We appreciate your belief in the work we do. Together we CAN let the dogs out!
Until each one has a home,

Learn more about what is happening in our southern shelters and rescues in the book, One Hundred Dogs & Counting: One Woman, Ten Thousand Miles, and a Journey Into the Heart of Shelters and Rescues (Pegasus Books, 2020). It’s the story of a challenging foster dog who inspired me to travel south to find out where all the dogs were coming from. It tells the story of how Who Will Let the Dogs Out began. Find it anywhere books are sold. A portion of the proceeds of every book sold go to help unwanted animals in the south.
