Deborah is a lifelong animal lover and rescue supporter who works Monday to Friday as a federal health care attorney and lobbyist, representing her clients on Capitol Hill and before federal agencies. Her journey into dog rescue started after she moved to Washington DC after graduation from law school, when she adopted an 8-year-old Dalmatian, “Barney,” deemed ‘unadoptable’ by most experts. Despite the grim warnings, Barney remained a loyal and loving companion – albeit a one-family dog – until the end of his life. Her focus is on trying to help find and nurture connections with other companies that can help WWLDO expand its outreach. When not at home in Old Town, Alexandria, Deborah can be found near the water in Rehoboth, DE or Virginia’s Northern Neck, or visiting family in Texas and Georgia.
