InstaSnip Program
This program breaks down barriers to spay-neuter services with fast-tracked funding designed specifically for under-resourced shelters and rescue organizations.
What Is InstaSnip?
InstaSnip is a spay/neuter grant program that provides immediate financial assistance for spay and neuter surgeries for dogs in the care of WWLDO partner shelters and rescues to be used within 6 months. The grant check is sent directly to the veterinary practice or spay/neuter clinic that the grantee plans to use. Grantees are required to establish their own Spay/Neuter Fund with a donation link for public contributions.
The grant also includes a matching fundraising challenge: if the grantee raises $2000 from community sources within three months of receiving the grant, they will automatically receive an additional $1000 InstaSnip grant.
Grant reporting requirements consist of emailing an invoice from the veterinary practice with the number of dogs spayed/neutered and the total cost.
InstaSnip award amounts typically range from $1500 to $3000 per shelter.
Why Spay/Neuter Funding Matters
The animal shelter crisis in America, particularly across Southern states, is directly linked to pet overpopulation. Every year, millions of dogs enter shelters, and many face euthanasia due to lack of space and resources. Spay and neuter programs are the most effective solution to:
Prevent unwanted litters and reduce the number of homeless dogs
Decrease shelter overcrowding and euthanasia rates
Improve community animal welfare and public health
Reduce costs for animal control and municipal shelters
Create sustainable, long-term solutions to pet overpopulation
By providing direct funding for spay/neuter surgeries, InstaSnip helps shelters address the root cause of animal overpopulation rather than just managing the symptoms.
The InstaSnip program is an offshoot of WWLDO's InstaGrant Program, founded in 2023, which provides essential, functional needs for overcrowded and financially struggling shelters in the American South.
“This is a way for under-resourced shelters and rescues to get immediate access to spay/neuter funding, which is critical for solving our current animal crisis.”
~ Cara Achterberg, Founder of Who Will Let the Dogs Out
