  1. Good read, thank you. Sadly there are far too many people who do not treat us as sentient creatures. We are a pain, a nuisance or a threat when we are lost or no longer wanted or required. It’s only a dog, you will hear far too often and those who are placed in charge of our care on a public basis are usually not trained to do so, nor inclined to learn. It also comes down to cold hard cash. If the shelters can afford to attract the better, more caring people to look after us, in theory it leaves the lesser financed public institutions to struggle along.
